The Sting concert: – An experience I will carry with me for the rest of my life...

There is little doubt that I am a Sting fan. And when I heard that he was going to perform in Kristiansund (KRISTIANSUND?!), I had to pinch myself. But tickets were definitely bought from the first second I realized that this was a reality!

Then came the news that he was going to tour with Shaggy, and as a good and semi-pessimistic Northern Norwegian, I suddenly thought; "What the f...?!", but gave the benefit of the doubt, and stayed away from all Youtube and the like, which could be detrimental to ruining my expectations.

Then the day came. After a lovely pre-show at Slatlems Corner with a great atmosphere, good weather and KBK players in place with us, the journey took us down to Arena Nordvest. Now it was going to happen! Really! I mean; Sting in Kristiansund?! Am I dreaming this? No, I certainly didn't.

Expected a warm-up band, and therefore lined up in line to buy a fresh beer. BANG! There it started! and to my great astonishment, it was Sting and Shaggy themselves who were standing on stage. It was swinging! Oh God, how it was swinging!

Beer was quickly bought, and we moved closer to the stage. To the perfect distance for sound and visual experience. The rest of the concert is difficult for me to describe, because I enjoyed, danced and sang every single second! Did I really experience this? In Kristiansund?

After a couple of encores, Sting and Shaggy decided that enough was enough. Again I stood slightly stunned by an experience I could only dream of, when suddenly something pricked my shoulder. A random girl, I can't remember having met before, said; "Excuse me? You ...? I just want to tell you something". Well then, as a blood-sceptical North Sea native that I am, I answered as politely and questioningly as I could; "jjjaaaa?" She said something approximately like; "You ... I just have to thank you. Your empathy lifted an already great concert experience an extra notch for me". Followed by a good hug, and I stood there dumbfounded and thought; "Okay... what happened now?!".

To come to an end; Thank you everyone who has made it possible for us to experience this! Thank you, thank you! And thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone involved in today's event! For me, this was an experience that I will carry with me as something good for the rest of my life. Thank you very much!
